Welcome and hello!

I hope to meet you in person soon. People say I'm warm, friendly, creative and practical. I truly enjoy helping people overcome the challenges in their lives.
After earning my BA in psychology, and MA in Counselling Psychology, I worked in schools and agencies for 25 years as a counsellor, social worker and university instructor. I helped people overcome anxiety and depression, and the effects of trauma, domestic abuse, child abuse, workplace bullying, and serious medical conditions.
My diverse interests led me to earn certification in Adlerian Psychology, Adult Learning, Parenting Education, Community Choir Leadership, acupressure, sound healing and Reiki. I've also studied homeopathy and nutrition in depth.
While academic learning is valuable, I believe it’s the school of life that helps us find deeper meaning and purpose. I've overcome my share of difficulties, and I know this brings realism and deep compassion to my counselling.
I delight in my two grown children, and four grandchildren. I love singing, Qigong, Svaroopa yoga, and spending time in nature. I especially enjoy showing people how to use music as medicine--to evoke deep relaxation and healing. Crystal singing bowls are amazing healing tools, and I now have over 100 Alchemy™ gemstone bowls.
I've performed as a vocalist worldwide. On one tour, I was adopted by Mary Brown of the Tlingit Wooshkitan Eagle clan of SE Alaska and given the name Kaasay ("Higher Voice").
I consciously chose to be a Baha'i "world citizen" at age 20, and for over 40 years have been an active promoter of social justice, gender equality, religious and racial tolerance, economic equity, world peace and environmental sustainability. I've received over $1 million in grants for human service projects. A portion of my profits go to organizations that promote these principles.
