"From Violence to Virtues: Positive Discipline in Our Schools" was the topic of two workshops presented at The Pacific Educational Conference held July 23-25th in Pago Pago, American Samoa. The conference was attended by over 1,000 educators from various South Pacific nations including Guam, American Samoa, Saipan, Yap, and Western Samoa. Participants consistently commented that this subject was important and practical. Typical comments on evaluation forms included "I'm feeling more confident with misbehaving kids", "I'm feeling encouraged, enlightened, informed", "This topic needs more time".
Concurrent with the conference, in-depth training in The Virtues Project was offered over the course of three evenings. Fifty-five members of the public attended sessions hosted at the Tafuna Baha’i Center. Participants particularly enjoyed devising and presenting virtues skits.
The training concluded with a joyful performance of “Step Dance” by the children.
